It's Not Too Late: How To Make A Name For Yourself In The Music Industry

Do you love music and have always wanted to do something with your talent? But then life came and distraction you, whether that be from parenthood, work responsibilities or fear - you’re only human, it happens. Regardless of what held you back, it's important to know that it's not too late to make a name for yourself. Dreams are important to have, and they're there to push us out of our comfort zones and take the big leap. Are you ready?
- Here's how to get yourself out there in the world of music.

Make a CD
You don't have to be a well-known artist in order to make your own CD - anyone can do it. What will separate you from everyone else is how you go about doing it. Quality is the absolute key to making a successful album. Book in some studio time, or do it from home, but make sure you invest in the best microphone to record yourself properly, without any background interruptions.
Once you're happy with how it sounds, use companies like Nationwide Disc Duplication to produce copies of your work. Then you can try selling them, or even handing them out for free in the beginning so you create some interest.

Attend open mic nights
Yes, it sounds very intimidating, but you'll feel amazing once you come off stage after your set. Most bars hold open mic nights so get looking around in your area. This is a great way to get your music out there, and the more you go to these, the more likely you are to create a fan base because people will start recognizing you. And if they like your music, they may ask you if you have a CD they could buy, or when you plan on performing next. This will work greatly to your advantage because the next thing you know, the owner of the bar will be asking you about your fee for performing there every month.

Open a YouTube account
You can have a YouTube account regardless of your age. Social media is a fantastic way to share your music, as well as your stories with people from all around the world. If you've been working on a new song, put a snippet of it online and ask people what they think of it. Showcase your talent, and let people see who you really are. The more open and honest you be with people, the more they will fall in love with you and support you through your journey. Plus, a nice amount of subscribers and followers will open even more doors for your career.

You see, now you have options. No matter your age or your situation, it's never too late to just go for it. This isn't about fame; this is about following your dreams and believing in yourself. It's about sharing your music and experience of life with others. It's about showing your children that you can do whatever you want as long as you put your mind to it.
