I've suffered back pain for at least the last 12 years. Once I had my son in 2004 it just all went downhill from there. I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease around 2005 or 2006. Basically, the disks in between my bones are degenerating. The name makes it pretty easy to understand. I'm almost always in pain. But being a blogger, reviewer and freelance writer, I'm always sitting down. Even before I became a stay at home mom and started doing all this at home, I've pretty much always had "desk" jobs where I'd be sitting all day. So that I'm sure hasn't helped me at all.

My current desk chair is old. I really need to buy a new one, but the kind I want/need is just out of the budget at this time. I've tried putting a small throw pillow behind my back, or a rolled towel (saw somewhere online). but neither has helped me.

So I was happy to try out Cush Cushion. It claims to relieve the pain and bonus; it helps your posture (which I admit, mine is horrible). So I figure I could give it a shot.

This actually worked as claimed. I can notice a difference in how I sit, my posture, and the pain is lessened. I guess suspending the tailbone is what really is necessary to help relieve some of the aches in my lower back. Be sure to check out how you're actually supposed to sit in it - for the first day, I swear I was sitting in the seat backward (the open part facing the front of the chair). I guess I was too excited to get it to really pay attention. It felt odd, but still kinda comfy. But once I realized I was sitting in it wrong, I turned it around and it made all the difference in the world. It can be used in the car, too! So if you're an over the road driver, or your job has you in the car for long amounts of time, use this! I'm going to. We're driving to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco, Mexico) next month, and it's about a 3-hour drive from Phoenix. I'll be the one getting out of the car feeling good and not needing to stretch like everyone else!

Note: this is not meant to be a solution for your back pain. This is simply to help aid your posture which can relieve pain and make sitting for long periods of time more enjoyable. If your pain is persistent, please see your doctor as you may have a condition of your own that requires more care.

Some more info about the Cush Cushion:

The coccyx cut-out in the back suspends the tailbone, which is medically proven to relieve lower back pain, numbness, and point pressure associated with sitting for long periods. You'll never want to be anywhere without this cushion! The bottom of the cushion has a custom non-slip bottom to keep the cushion in place. I've known other seats that didn't have that, and it always moved around in the chair. The deep ergonomic shape is made to hug your butt as you sit. It distributes support evenly so you can sit for longer without discomfort and have an improved posture. The Cush is made from 100% high-grade memory foam so it won't go flat like other foams.  Side note: you should tell your boss about this! Maybe if more people were comfortable in their chairs, they'd be more productive!

The Cush Comfort cushion stops the pain cycle within 30 seconds of the time you first sit on it.
Our high-performance grade A memory foam technology responds to the heat from your body and forms itself into the exact shape of your butt. This process eliminates the point pressure normally associated with sitting and replaces it with fully distributed support that keeps you comfortable even while sitting for hours on end.
