Celebrations come in all shapes and sizes. Birthdays, anniversaries, achievements, you name it. However, being on a budget can put a downer on some of the celebrations for some people. Just because you’re on a budget, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t celebrate whatever it is you’re celebrating. You can still have a great time on a budget. Here are some ideas to inspire you!
Throw A Garden Party
If you have a garden, why not throw a garden party to celebrate a special occasion? You can make this as lavish as you like, but you don’t need to spend much at all. Buy the ingredients to make a few simple dishes and a few cheap drinks, and voila! If you like you can splash out on slightly fancier things, and maybe even decorate a little. If you have a firepit and fairy lights, the party will likely go on for longer. This is a great idea for celebrating in the summer.
Cook A Nice Meal
If you’re celebrating an anniversary or something like that, why not cook a nice meal? All you need is the ingredients, and it’ll likely be a fraction of the price that you’d pay at a restaurant. You can find all kinds of recipes online, and many are ridiculously easy to follow. Nothing says celebration quite like yummy food!
Make A Gift Yourself
Got no money to buy a gift? Don’t worry. Make one yourself. There are so many easy gifts you can make with basic materials. It’s the thought that counts, and if someone sees you have put the effort in like this, they’ll love it. You could make them a jar filled with notes about things you love about them. You could make them a picture frame, scrapbook, or anything you think they’ll find sentimental. If you have a skill, such as a musical instrument, you could even write them a song!
Get Some Fireworks
Fireworks aren’t too pricy and they can be great for really celebrating in style. You could even have them with your garden party to make it extra special! You can purchase fireworks online too, so you haven’t got to worry about searching for them out of season. Just make sure you are careful when you use them, as they can be hazardous if you don’t.
Do Something Different
Rather than doing something expensive, like going to a 5 star restaurant or even going away for the weekend, do something different. Go for a hike and take a picnic. Host a film night with lots of sweets and friends. Camp out in the garden for your kid’s birthdays. They won’t cost much at all, but they’ll still be extra special.
See, just because you’re on a budget doesn’t mean you shouldn’t celebrate a special occasion. You have no excuse when there are so many things you can do that barely cost anything. Do you have ideas of your own you’d like to share? Leave a comment below. Thanks for reading!
