The Things I Should Have Said

This post is my entry for the #BehindTheBlogger writing prompt. I hope you enjoy my post and follow along to the other blogs taking part. You can find their links below!

This week's prompt is "Things I should have said". Geez, I'm sure if I sat here and really thought about it, there is so much. Just so much to so many people for so many reasons. So I've got to sit here and think about what I'm going to say here... There's so much that could be said.

So keep on reading. ;)

So, my wedding anniversary is March 8. My husband has to work, but we're heading to Vegas for a few days of alone time. My dad's going to stay with the kids. We desperately need this alone time. We're so busy being mommy and daddy, that I think we forget we're husband and wife. We're Chris and Jen. We don't often get out without the kids. We need to so we can remember us and remember that WE are a team.

So this post is dedicated to the one I love... (Catch that Mama's and the Papa's reference?! No? Ok, moving on...)

We got married March 8, 2008, in Las Vegas. We married at a chapel and had the reception at his aunt and uncles house in nearby Henderson, Nevada. We try to go back yearly (either for our anniversary, or my birthday - sometimes both!). We look forward to it.

All the things I should have said. Geez. I'm sure there have been many times where I should have said something I didn't. So, I'm going to take this time to try to say it all now.

Thank you for being such a hard-worker and doing enough for me to be a stay at home mom. Thank you for the sacrifices you've made for us. Thank you for the love, patience and kindness you have in you. Thank you for stepping up and being DAD to my son, the one you call your own. Thank you for spending money on me for things I don't need and just selfishly want, and for entertaining my crazy. Thank you for not being controlling and allowing me to follow my path regarding career. And thank you for encouraging me to go back to school, even at my age (not like I'm a dinosaur or anything). Thank you for making me feel pretty, even when I'm sick, or I feel like I'm on my deathbed. Thank you for being strong for me when I need you to be. Thank you for being understanding. Thank you for being my rock. Thank you for being such a great man to me.

I can't even stress enough how crazy I can be, and this man has taken it all. He doesn't  mind it LOL. At least not that I've noticed :)

Thank you for reading a story from #BehindTheBlogger Hop. Every two weeks a group of bloggers is given a writing prompt. These prompts are very open ended, so our bloggers can write about whatever they desire. The main rule is that their blog post directly relates to the topic of that week. The point of this hop is for our readers to get to know us on a personal level.  Please hop along and read all of the blog posts in this weeks hop. Just click the links below. If you want real and raw emotion, then you will find it here. After you read each post, please comment and share. We want to get to know you too!

  1. This is very sweet and so true! I don't thank my boyfriend enough for all that he does.

  2. Marriage is always a changing, evolving. Being married to my husband for 25 years now we have been through pretty much everything and some things we hope to never go through, but they can always happen. Cherish your husband always and make time for each other.

  3. Lovely. It's so awesome when your family is a team and thankful one at that!

  4. Love this, it's so sweet. I know the feeling, my husband and I have been married for almost 8 years and he has been supportive in everything I have wanted to do. He has stood by me through my crazy moments, and my sane ones too! lol Beautiful post xo
