I’m sorry to mention the ‘C’ word so early, but most people have already started to purchase their Christmas presents for this year. That is because they know prices are about to rise, and stock levels are soon to decrease. Leave it too long, and you might have to settle for less than perfect gifts for your loved ones. The ideas on this page come from my Christmas list. You don’t have to buy the same products for your family. I’m just trying to give you some inspiration.
Presents for your husband
When it comes to buying presents for your husband, it should be easy to think of the perfect items. You know him better than anyone else in the world, and so choosing his present should be child's play. You can still get lots of stocking fillers, but you need to buy a couple of substantial presents too. Here are some ideas:
Presuming you man likes a little drink on the weekend, getting some good quality spirits could be perfect. There are always limited edition drinks available, so you just need to look online. The folks over at kentstreetcellars.com.au say specialist bottles are always popular. You just need to select something you know he will love.
I hate to say it, but most men aren’t very good at clothes shopping. My partner has jeans in the wardrobe that were purchased more than five years ago. With that in mind, I’ve decided to get him some designer gear this year. Would he prefer a new TV? Very probably. Is he going to look more presentable when we go out? Almost definitely. At the end of the day, he’s not going to buy new clothing himself. So, it’s up to me.
Presents for your kids
Children’s presents are often the easiest to buy. That is because most kids want the same products as their friends. Just search online to find out the latest trends, and you can’t go wrong. Also, most kids are more than happy to tell you what they want. Even so, here are some ideas:
- Game consoles
The new PlayStation 4 was released quite a while ago. Thankfully, that means prices have dropped considerably. That means I can now afford to buy one for my kids. I always get joint presents because it stops any arguments. Before I did that, one child would get upset because they preferred the other’s gifts.
- Movie merchandise
My kids love watching films and becoming obsessed with the characters. I’ll bet most of your little ones are the same. We’ve only just got over the Frozen craze from the last two years. At Christmas, my children are going to receive enough Minions gear to join the fan club. You just need to work out which movie your kids liked most during 2015.
I hope those suggestions will help you to make the right decisions this year. Just remember that Christmas isn’t about spending a fortune on presents. It’s about spending time with the people you love most. Enjoy the holiday season when it finally arrives, but make sure you get all your gifts soon. There is nothing worse than shopping on Christmas Eve. I should know, I’ve been there many times before.
