Using A Jump Rope to Work Out

I think many people don't think of jump rope as a way to work out. But in reality, it's a decent workout. Whether you jump for 5 or 15 minutes, you'll find that its the cardio you've been needing. Keep on reading to learn a little more about jumping rope, and the rope I recommend.

First, you want to buy a quality jump rope. You don't want a rope from the toy store. You want a rope specific for jumping as an exercise.

There are quite a few websites you can visit to get workout routines to help you come up with your own routine. You can use each of the routines listed as is, or mix them up to create one that works for you. If you're new to jumping rope (or haven't done it since the 4th grade), then start off slow. Don't overdo it or push it further than your able at first, just like with any workout.

Jump rope has plenty of benefits as a workout. It's an effective cardio routine that works arms, legs, and core while strengthening your bones and improving balance. If you wear a FitBit or other activity monitor, I'm sure you'll enjoy seeing your heart rate go up with the workout as well as the calories burned.

Here's another routine that I found online that may be beneficial for you!

I recommend a jump rope like the Limm Jump Rope. It's a versatile jump rope for all experience levels including those who enjoy cross fitness. It is adjustable to your height which is highly recommended by those who jump.

The original length of the rope is over 9 feet long. The package has instructions to help you perfectly adjust it to you. It won't tangle up like other brands can. There are ball bearings in it to help ensure that the rope will turn effortlessly with you. The handles are ergonomic, so they're comfortable while you're holding it. Even if you're sweaty the handles gives you the grip you need to keep going. Even still, the rope is light as a feather making it perfect for traveling.

I love jumping with this rope. I haven't jumped rope since probably middle school. But I feel like a kid again. I've been needing something to help get cardio in when I don't have the time, or a way to get a quick workout in while I'm busy with the kids and this is the perfect way for me to do that. With this jump rope, I feel more active than I have in such a long time. Of course I'm trying to eat better and trying to eat smaller portions (which is hard when we have so many parties and get-togethers with family and friends).
