I had a silicone baking mat before it was "cool" to have one. I received it with my kit at culinary school, and I loved using it. I honestly have NO idea what happened to it over the past decade (almost). It was the most amazing thing to have on a cookie sheet. Nothing stuck to it! I used it while making sugar bowls with hot sugar, used it while making chocolate cigarettes (something we did in baking class just for fun) and used it to bake on obviously.

Though I've washed it in the dishwasher, I typically hand wash because it's never so messy that I can't just hand wash.
