Review: Hask Hair Products

I was recently sent the products mentioned below to sample and write a review. My opinion is 100% my own.

I recently received a pack of goodies from the brand Hask. Let me tell you, it was more than I expected! I received full size bottles of the Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner. I also received a bottle of the Repairing Shine Oil, and a packet of the Repairing Deep Conditioner. I received full size bottles of their Keratin Protein line as well; Shampoo, Conditioner, Repairing Shine Oil and the Repairing Deep Conditioner. They all came inside a pink shower caddy.

First off, this stuff smells like it came from a salon. I’ve never used Argan Oil products, nor Keratin products. But it sure does smell lovely.

Apparently, the Argan is for perfectly soft, luscious hair. It’s loaded with vitamins and antioxidants. The Argan Oil from Morocco repairs, strengthens and moisturizes hair. It tames frizz and adds shine during the process. Well let me tell you, during my shower, I felt like I was in a salon. It smelled so fabulous, I could bathe in the scent. Seriously. The Argan Oil line is for those with damaged, color-treated or dry hair. The line is free of sulfates and parabens.

During the shower, I noticed that I didn’t feel a lot of lather like I would with other brands, but I know that some brands have less of the stuff that makes that lather - they say its better for the hair as it doesn’t strip all the oils your scalp needs. I technically only wash my hair a few times a week anyways. But I figured I wouldn’t do a second wash in the shower, and see what it looked like afterwards. If it turns out that I should have, well then it would have been a lesson learned for the next wash.

Anyways.

After the shower, I let my hair air dry. I generally don’t comb it or do anything to it after I wash it. I will occasionally use mousse or something to help add volume if needed. But I didn’t do anything this time, I wanted to see the full effect of the shampoo and conditioner. I can attest that my hair was softer, shiny, and had less frizz than usual. However, I didn’t have any lift. My hair felt flat, and I really regretted not putting some mousse in it. I really do like this line, but I won’t use it all the time. I’ll use it when my hair needs that extra love that my regular can’t give it. And when I do use it, I’ll probably use some mousse afterwards. If you aren’t big on volume, and just want soft, shiny, manageable hair - then this is 100% for you.

The Repairing Shine Oil from Hask was used after a wash with the Shampoo & Conditioner from this line. It is really lightweight. It absorbs instantly and helps to reduce frizz. I also used it after using my regular shampoo & conditioner that I love (because it really lifts my hair) and this did help tame some frizz and flyaways that I would normally have. I applied about a dime sized amount, but honestly, I could have used a little less - my hair is still pretty short (barely passing shoulder length).

I have NOT yet used the Repairing Deep Conditioner from Hask. It is supposed to be a super strengthening, hydrating treatment with Keratin that will help restore and smooth dry, damaged, chemically treated or over processed hair. My hair is really only one of those - and I don’t feel I need it…. yet. I’m sure I will. So I’m going to hold on to it. I've seen other blog posts where the user really noticed a difference when she used the entire line in full. If its anything like the rest of the line, it is high quality.

Next in line is the Keratin Protein line from Hask. These are also free of parabens and sulfates. The Keratin is best used for those who often color, blow dry, hot iron, etc. I just began to use my blow dryer again. I didn't use it for the longest time when I had my long hair. My hair just seemed to suck up the heat - and never actually dry. Same with trying to curl it. Now that its short, I feel like I have a fresh start, and it may actually work in my favor

Back to the topic.

I tried this line, the Shampoo, Conditioner, Smoothing Shine Oil and the Smoothing Deep Conditioner. Same as I mentioned before. The scent on this is heavenly. I could just pour this scent into a candle and light it. Seriously. If they don’t make this scent in a candle, they seriously should!

I had pretty much the same results. It helped reduce frizz, it kept my hair soft, and shiny. But it lacked the volume that I so desperately need with this short hair. If only they could add something to help my hair have somebody, this would be perfect! That’s all I ask for.

I truly do love this line, and I’ll continue to use the products as needed to prevent frizz, and help contain my hair. But as I said - I’ll still need something extra to add volume.

The products can be found locally at stores like Kmart, Walmart, Family Dollar, Walgreens, CVS, etc. You can also check them out online, at http://www.haskbeauty.com/. I highly recommend them if you have dry, frizzy, damaged, chemically/color treated, unruly hair. It will revitalize, rejuvenate, and make your hair manageable again.
