Dr. Scholls For Her Cozy Cushions

So if you knew me in person, you would know that I love slippers. And not just any slippers, I like the Perry the Platypus slippers or any other fun character, but I really, really love my cozy slippers. You know, the ones that look like Uggs. Oh yea. I love those (and I try not to wear them out too much, since they are slippers, not actual boots).

Well, not too long ago, I bought a really comfy pair from Walmart. Then I got my RoseVoxBox from Influenster. In it, was Dr. Scholls for Her Cozy Cushions. They are inserts for your favorite boots, slippers, shoes, etc. I decided I could NOT put them in actual boots, or sneakers. I HAD to put them in my slippers! Make them go from warm and cozy, to EXTRA warm and EXTRA cozy.

Ok. I'm in Arizona, and I don't need warm yet. But I will! It will get cold! I promise you. Our night time temps now are in the 50s, this week we are gonna be in the 70s to high 60s, and it will only get colder. Sometime around January it gets the coldest. Yes, even us in the Phoenix area get frost on our cars, frost on the grass, we can see our breath. But I will admit, it is nothing like back home in Ohio! Whew!

These cozy cushions are just so warm and fuzzy! They are really keeping my feet warm at night. I just love them. They come in a large size, so they will fit anyone. You simply look at the back and cut it down to the size you need, then slip it in your shoes. Its even labeled so you know which is left and which is right!

Thank you Influenster for my complimentary pair. The review posted is 100% my opinion, and was not influenced by me getting these for free.

Review: eMeals + Discount Code

*Get 35% off menu planning with eMeals by using code CYBER35. Read below!*

I already used meal planning when it came to my grocery shopping list and budget. I recently was given a subscription to eMeals, which makes the meal planning easy for you. I have heard of eMeals before. Dave Ramsey, financial guru, recommends this, because it helps you cut down on waste (leftovers) and gives you an affordable menu plan for the upcoming week. You choose your menu style, your family size, and a store you shop at regularly. Every week it will email you with a new menu plan, recipes for main and side dishes, directions, as well as a grocery list WITH prices. It states that it gives coupons as well, but I haven't seen any.  All the ingredients you buy for the week will be used in multiple recipes, so there won't be any waste left over. For example, you need 1/4 onion for one recipe, but the rest of the onion goes bad because you don't need it again. With eMeals, they help prevent that.

Treat Holiday Cards + Flash Giveaway!

Treat is a great company to get your holiday cards from. They have such a large selection to choose from, and now you can buy from their one-to-one holiday card collection. This allows you to personalize cards just for those special people in your life, rather than giving them one from a bulk order. Treat also now offers one-to-one gift selection.

What's great is that you can buy an individual card for your childrens teacher(s), a special card for your spouse, the grandparents, Christmas thank you cards, etc. There are so many to choose from, and I think we will be buying the Christmas thank you cards to give the grandparents from the kids.

Some of my favorite gifts from the gift collection, is the iPhone case, easel art, and the mounted prints. I think those are really cute, and I think I will be buying those for some people this year... Ok, the iPhone case would be for myself. LOL.

Another great gift option, putting the gift cards in the card itself! You can add gift cards from the Treat website! They also have an app which allows you to send digital cards.

My personal fave, the stationary. There are so many options to choose from, whether you want a holiday decoration, or something that fits in all year round. They have stationary for everyone.

Most of the cards on the website also has a digital option, so you can send the card digitally. Saving time and money. Here is a video on how that works:

Review: Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara

I don't always wear makeup, and for an every day look, its usually a little mascara, some color on the cheeks, and lipgloss. That's it. Obviously, I do wear more than that when going out, or special occasions, etc. And I do own a ton of makeup. I thought I found my favorite mascara, but then Influenster sent me Rimmel London's Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara. They claim that it gives you bold, wide-eyed false lash look. I'm thinking, yea right. That false lash look is from false lashes you use in the commercials (pet peeve of mine right there).

But I figured, might as well try it. I don't think I've ever actually tried a mascara from Rimmel London. This is the look I created. Yes, I am using other non-Rimmel products, but lets not name them in this post (but I'll be glad to tell ya if you send me a message or tweet me). The pic below is an Instagram pic, and I used a filter because the lighting wasn't all that great in my apartment at that time.

Shocker. It actually looks good. It doesn't seem over done, it looks great, and I actually like it. You can see the lashes, and you can see my eyes appear wide, I look awake (even though I was dog tired). I feel like this mascara can be great for dramatic, and subtle/natural looks.

So guess now I have a new mascara to add to my favorites. It lasted all day, and was easy to wash off. I didn't look like a racoon after trying to take off the mascara, so that is a big plus.

What's your favorite mascara? Would you give Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara a try?

*Note: I received this mascara as part of my Rose VoxBox from Influenster. While the sample was given to me, the opinions stated are my own.

Review: BA Star Red Lip Pencil

While I'm not usually one to rock a red lip, I've recently discovered I kinda like how I look in red. I received a lip crayon in a red color from BA Star that's perfect for the holidays. It is actually called Holiday Lip Pencil. I used it to go with my Halloween face first. A few days later I went ahead and tried it out with some simple makeup. It looks good.

Spotlight: Teagime - Weekly Tea Delivery Service

Teagime is short for tea regime, which is a weekly tea service. This tea is said to help your body detox and lose excess weight. Granted, this company is located in the UK, and so prices and studies that they mention are specific to the UK, this actually sounds pretty good.

They offer three teas for every day. A morning tea, afternoon tea and an evening tea. Teagime teas help to metabolize excess fat and “can do wonders” for your detox and weight loss goals. Of course, you should have moderate exerice and a balanced diet to go along with this, as with any other weight loss product.

The company is not quite ready to deliver, and they need some help. They have a campaign on Indigogo, which is a crowd funding website. They need help to get their product made and shipped. They offer perks for your donations. A simple $5 (in UK dollars) donation will get you a sampler pack, $10 (UK dollars) gets you a week supply of Teagime. The perks go all the way up to $1k (UK) where you get lifetime supply of Teagime.

If you check them out on Indigogo, you can find out more about their product, their claims and what they plan to do with the money – if you choose to help and donate.

Teagime was made out of the idea that there needs to be a healthy alternative to soft drinks. Apparently, a UK Soft Drinks Report for 2013 stated that an average person in the UK drank 227 liters of the stuff (doesn’t specify if it is per day or year, etc). As many know, soda increases your risk of heart disease and high cholesterol. They decided to look for alternatives that are healthier. They found there was nothing available on the market. But they did find that some herbs and teas have synergistic and nourishing properties when taken together. So that is how they came up with Teagime.

If you’re interested in learning more, check out their campaign on Indigogo.

Now, being that they are in the UK, I’m not sure what their standards are as far as the FDA and the claims they make. You should make sure you do your own research before trying any product, including speaking to your doctor about the ingredients used, and if anything may interact with any current medications.

What do you think? It seems worthwhile, I’m contemplating donating the $5 to sample it and see if it at least tastes good. I just don’t know how I would make the tea – as they aren’t bagged. It is loose leaf tea, and I’m not familiar with it. Will you try it? Let me know!

Creative Physics Program Review

Creative Physics 5.0 is a Windows based program (for Win XP up to Win 8). Creative Physics is an educational software app that helps physics students learn physics in a way that is more fun and interactive.

Creative Physics is made by Stewart Software out of Baton Rouge, LA. Now, while it is a physics software, it doesn't mean that regular, non-physics students can't play with it a little. Us non-technical people can use it for fun, or make designs, even though it isn't the intended purpose.

This app is targeted towards high school students and their teachers, especially integrated into the coursework. More specifically, the makers of the app are targeting college and grad students to be used in physics labs in college.

Some features:
  • The app is free to download and use for 15 days. Now, that isn't 15 days in a row, but rather 15 unique usage days. You can skip days in the program, and it won't count unless you use it that day.
  • It is 3D
  • The price of Creative Physics is less than the leading competitor
  • Older versions of Creative Physics were used in the 80's and 90's in many university level physics labs around the USA and the world. It was showcased at the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) meetings at that time.
  • Since it is a small program, it won't suck up your computers resources and can run with very little RAM.

Stewart Software plans to help the community by donating their program to schools in areas of poverty to help advance the educational needs of children and students. They are also constantly upgrading the product and are working on some video tutorials and a workbook to go along with the experiments.

Besides physics, you can use this program with astronomy, Earth Science, vector addition, geometry, trigonometry, calculus. Mechanical engineers can use this software.

It is considered a STEM (Science, Technology, Education, Math) educational software. This software is great for college students who are taking Earth Science or Astronomy to learn the planets of the solar system, and the constellations in the correct manner, as taught in typical courses.

Overall, even though I personally do not have a need for this program, it is fun, and I can see this being used by high school and college students. It is very educational, and for me it was pretty fun to play around with. I'll give it a 5/5.

You can check out the software by going to CreativePhysics.net
