Review: Lazy Bird iPhone App

Lazy Bird is just as cute as Doubting Dasha. Visually stunning, fun yet educational and just all around cute. Same with Dasha, you can read along, read by yourself, have it read it to you, or record your voice to read it to your kids. This app is a bit more upbeat than Dasha, definitely not gothic at all.

This story is about Frank. He is the laziest bird you have ever known. This story is educational in which it helps with reading skills, it also teaches a valuable life lesson. This app is so much fun, that not only does my 9 yr old love it, my 1 yr old wants to play it. So I put it in my Fisher Price Apptivity case for my iPhone and I turn the app on so she can enjoy it. She loves it!

I recommend this app. If you are looking for apps to help your child with reading, this is it. My son hates reading, and these apps make it fun for him!

This app is designed for both the iPhone and the iPad. On my iPhone, the images are clear, and visually stunning. I can imagine it would look just as fabulous on the iPad.

This is a must have app!  It only costs $0.99, and its available on iTunes.

Review: Doutbing Dasha iPhone App

Doubting Dasha is an iPhone app for kids. It is a story app in which the kids can read along, have the story read to them or read by themselves. You can also have a the parent (or grandparents) record their voice reading the app to them.

This story is kind of dark and gothic, but it isn't too "dark" for kids. Dasha must save her village in a race against time. Along the way she must confront the dark forest which is rumored to have giants, wolves, witches and other monsters. She must show that she is courageous.

Throughout the story, you can tap on an item or a character to discover more about the character or the story. We love this app. I enjoy any app that gets my son excited about reading! That never happens, and he just isn't into reading like I was as a kid.

The illustrations and graphics are pretty amazing, and even on my iPhone its clear and there are't any problems. This app also works on the iPad, so it may be more fun on the iPad. Apps that promote learning, and problem solving are great. This app also has riddles throughout that allows you to help Dasha save her village. The app has 5 stars from the reviewers, and I can see why.

Doubting Dasha only costs $0.99, and its a great deal. Get it for your iPhone or iPad here.

Review: Card.com

Recently I was offered to review this prepaid card from Card.Com. I said sure, why not. The best part about this card, that allows it to stand out from other prepaid cards, is the choices of cards! OMG, you can choose from many categories such as hipster, fashion, comics, flags, causes, etc.
Autism, card.com
Autism cause. One close to my heart.

Review: Joomeez Nova App

This app is so much fun, it just may replace my Candy Crush addiction!  The first level is free, and if you decide you love the game (which you will) you can buy the upgrade and it will give you 100+ levels to play and beat (hopefully there will be more added as time goes on!).

Online Self Defense Classes

I came across this website, Krav Online, and thought it was perfect. Many people either don't have the time or energy (and sometimes money) to go to a self defense class in person. Well, with Krav Online, you can do it from the comfort of your home.

They teach online self defense classes for women, seniors, men and even children. Bullying is more so present today in our schools than ever, and not all of our kids would know how to defend themselves properly if someone was to lay hands on them or attack them. This class can teach our kids how to defend themselves if ever needed. It can also help our kids fend off an attacker, or at least injure them enough so they can run for help.

The classes range from $15 to $115. You can choose to receive them for one, three six or twelve months. It teaches self defense from all positions. Whether the attacker has you on the ground (or God forbid comes into you're home while you're sleeping), from behind, etc. You can view previews of the videos on the website, where they show people of all ages, both male and female, using it.

This website is definitely worth checking out. No matter who you want to use this service, they will surely gain useful information. Let's just hope we never have to use the techniques.

Check them out by visiting them here: Krav Online.

Have you ever taken a self defense class? Would you take one online?

One Year Old... Already?

So Bella turns one year old on September 12. Oh. My. God. Where has the time gone?! I feel like it just flew by. So much has happened, so much that I want to go back to. She is creeping on her own now (holding onto furniture to move around), crawling obviously, even though she hated it at first. She lifts her arms up when she wants up, says mama a lot, trying to say dada, a lot of baby talk. She adores her big brother, which is AMAZING to watch that relationship grow. But man, 1 year already?!

I'm not ready!

I'm not ready to call my baby a toddler. I'm not ready to see her start walking - even though I am very excited about the prospect of it. I am not ready at all.

This means we are closer to preschool. We are closer to more talking. Closer to terrible twos. Closer to potty training (I can't wait to stop buying diapers).

sigh

So I look back at the past year and think wow. I made it. And I look ahead at the next year, and think wow, I'm crazy. But, I am excited, and scared. Its been a long time since I've had a toddler in my care 24/7. Eric is now 9 years old! I mean, yea, I've watched my nephews and some friends kids... But, they got to go back. But this one, shes all mine, and she doesn't go back to anyone. I can't wait to see how her personality grows - which we can already see flourish daily. She is a funny one, and she likes the camera. A future model?

sigh, again.

I will be posting photos of her 1st birthday on my Instagram if you care to follow. My user name is jentyree.

Wish me luck!
