Review: BA Star Red Lip Pencil

While I'm not usually one to rock a red lip, I've recently discovered I kinda like how I look in red. I received a lip crayon in a red color from BA Star that's perfect for the holidays. It is actually called Holiday Lip Pencil. I used it to go with my Halloween face first. A few days later I went ahead and tried it out with some simple makeup. It looks good.

Halloween 2013
It isn't a stain, so don't expect it to last all day. When I tried it on as a look (not for Halloween), it wore off after eating and drinking. It left kiss marks on my 14 month old. So again, it is not a stain, it will not last all day. Even though the website says it will. For Halloween I didn't wear a gloss over it. And after a couple hours it started to feel dry. I felt like my lips were peeling and chapped almost. But they weren't. So if you plan on wearing it for long without reapplying you may want to take along a clear or peach gloss.

I do like the color. I know the review so far may seem a bit harsh, I really do like it. I do wish that this was the type you didn't have to sharpen. But unfortunately I will have to buy a sharpener. As it is an actual pencil, not one of those ones you simply twist up.

I think it's a good buy. It is a really pretty red on its own, and when I used a peachy lip gloss from benefit (insert name here) it looked really pretty. You can get 50% off your purchase by using code BBLIPS at checkout. The pencil is only $8.75, so half would be $4.37. They also state that if you purchase 6 or more you get a $5 discount at checkout. But I am not sure if you can use this code with that. Check out BA Star and let  me know which one you ordered. I do plan on ordering more myself.

Just so you know, the website looks like it is more of a cheer or gymnastics makeup company. But the lip crayons are in some pretty colors - especially for the holidays.

In my photos I am only wearing the red, a gloss over it, mascara and a little eyeshadow. You can see, it's really pretty. Check out the site and order yourself one! www.BAStar.com and use code BBLIPS for 50% off. (Code may only last a limited time)

As previously mentioned - I recevied this product in exchange for my honest review. All opinons are my own!  Powered by BrandBacker!
