Crest 3D Whitestrips: Review

I received a VoxBox from Influenster. In t was a month of Crest 3D White Strips. I was excited because I had always wanted to try these.2012-11-15 15.43.26

At first I was a bit nervous. The box mentions that some people have had side effects like their teeth becoming sensitive, and I did not want that to happen, but I put them on and hoped for the best.

Now, let me say. I do not like them on my teeth! It did not hurt, it was not complicated, it was annoying. My teeth aren’t perfectly straight, and I am 100% OK with that, because they aren’t like super crooked or anything either. But I had the hardest time to get the strip to place under and onto the backside of my teeth. And then when I did get them done, it felt weird, it didn’t stick completely on the back, and was just annoying. Pretty sure I licked some of the peroxide or whatever whitening agent was in it. Also, it doesn’t tell you if you should dry your teeth ahead of time. No, not with a blow dryer! But like, dab a paper towel or something. I think you should! Trying to place the dang sticky thing on wet teeth seemed absolutely impossible! I felt like a crazy person.

2012-11-15 15.43.59

Then when they are on… don’t try to talk! It feels so weird. It screwed with my speech – not that the strips did anything, but I was afraid to talk, hell, I was afraid to close my lips over my teeth! And I had to do this for 30 mins?! I felt crazy. So I did it while I washed my face/put weekly facial mask on, and took shower.

Also, the package doesn’t say how long after you brush you should use them… or how long you should wait to brush after using! It just says something along the lines of do not use directly after brushing… So like what? An hour?

The commercials make it all seem simple and easy, but it just didn’t feel as glamorous as it looked on TV. *sigh* what can you do ya know? It’s a commercial for Gods sake!

Anyways. So I was expecting this crazy transformation on my teeth. Not that they are bad or really discolored, but could definitely use some whitening. Well…  I don’t know. Maybe I should have dried my teeth, maybe it should tell you when to brush after using, etc. Because I don’t see that much difference. I mean, yea, its maybe a tad lighter, but nothing to go jumping and spend $30 again next year on a box (yea, you should only use 2ce a year, anything more then you really need a dentist!). I also don’t feel the need to post a before/after pic, sing their praises, or anything really.

Yes, I do use Crest 3D toothpaste, so I thought that would give me some kind of secret edge…… nope.

This is my honest review. I hoped I could give you better news than this. And maybe I just applied it wrong? Who knows. I am happy that I did not sit here and spend out of pocket, because I would have been asking for my money back.

Do I think you should get this? Well, that would be based on you. Like I said, maybe I did something wrong. Maybe it will work for you. Maybe it won’t. I would def watch for a good deal with EB at CVS or a really good coupon from P&G in the Sunday papers (usually the first of the month).

30 Days of Thanks: days 18-30 is just one thing…

I didn’t need to do a full 30 days of thanks. Many of my thanks are for one person. I have said I am thankful for my family earlier on, and am very thankful for many, many things. But this last thing requires more than just one day.

I am soooo thankful for my Husband! He has been there for me when I am up and down, when I need a shoulder to cry on, he has been my rock. I don’t know where I would be without him, life would not be the same. I have this beautiful baby girl from him, and we are so thankful for her. He has been a great father to my, I mean our, son. He is patient, and kind, and loving, and everything anyone could ever ask for. I know there are times where I am selfish, or impatient, or even have a tantrum, but he is patient, and stands by me still. I love him so much, and without him, I would be lost.

I love you Chris! You are my everything, babe.

Dino Lingo–teaching language to kids

This is the cutest little video! There is a bunch of introductory type videos on YouTube for Dino Lingo. I showed my son Spanish, since we live in Arizona it would be wise for us to learn Spanish LOL. I also showed him Japanese and Greek. Wow. He seemed interested, not sure if he will pay attention, but I would definitely try this with my daughter.

The Greek one was interesting, to see the letters, and how each letter is pronounced, it was pretty interested. I think for us, Spanish would be easier to learn, to me it is closest to English, and a little easier to learn (or so I hope). It would be cool to see a sign language one like this, but I guess there already is one – Baby Einstein.

This is cute, and I think I may be getting the Spanish one to see if my kids can learn it. It would be beneficial to them. I am not too sure of any other language learning programs for kids, so this is top on my list in that category. I just think the graphics are a little plain. Kids these days expect good cartoons and graphics, like top of the line LOL. But it is still a good program.

Check out the Spanish one I viewed here, or check out some others on the Dino Lingo site.

What do you think about it?

*Disclaimer- I viewed my complimentary clip through Influenster.

30 Days of Thanks: Day 18

On this 18th day, I am thankful for the heater! I know, I live in Arizona, why would I need a heater? Well, it gets cold here too! Especially at night. I am thankful that my kids don't have to worry about bundling up at night because we have a heater to keep us warm. It may have scared the crap outta me when I first turned it on last week (it literally made all of my smoke alarms go off!) but hey, it works, and it keeps us warm!

What are you thankful for today?

30 Days of Thanks: day 17

This one is going to sound small in comparison to past posts..... but today, I am thankful for slippers. My toes are so cold right now, so I put them in a nice pair of warm slippers, and BAM! The cold is gone LOL. I know it seems trivial, and small, but you know what? It's things like this that we are grateful for when in the moment.

So, what's keeping your toes warm today?
What are you thankful for?

30 Days of Thanks: Day 16

On this 16th day of November, I am thankful for the food kitchens. We all know there are homeless people out there, or families who don't have food in the cupboards. The food kitchens are people who can help them have a nice warm meal, or even give out boxes of food to people who need it. I am very thankful that people can get food one way or another.

So I am going to ask you to do this: Thanksgiving is so close to us. Volunteer your time at a soup kitchen, donate money to a place that hands out food boxes to those who need it. Or even donate money. This is the season to give. It's around these holidays that I am more likely to give money to a homeless man that is on the corner, because I want him to go get a cup of coffee and a sandwich. I want him to go get warm for a while. I hope that this season everyone will give, as we have a lot to be thankful for right now.

What are you thankful for?
What do you do for the holidays - do you donate time, money, food?

30 Day of Thanks: Day 15

I have mentioned this before in previous days.... I am thankful for the union on this 15th Day of Thanks. The union has done a lot for us, they will go to bat for us, and they are just awesome people. A great perk of the union is the discounted tickets for events! Besides the insurance, the discounted tickets, and the great people,  the union gives us job protection, and we know when he will get a pay raise.

I am going to stop bragging about the Union now. It probably feels like they paid me to say it! But they didn't! They don't even know I'm writing about them LOL.

What are you thankful for today?

30 Days of Thanks: Day 14

On day 14, I am thankful for my husbands job. He can request off days if he needs to, he also has seniority so if he is shorted on hours he can grab them from someone who has more from him. We are thankful for a paycheck. There are people out there trying to find a job, and we are thankful that we have security in the fact that he is in the union - he can't just get fired - even tho it is a right to work state. The union protects us and his paycheck, and that is amazing to me. Never thought so highly of the unions until my husband joined his. The benefits are amazing too.

What are you thankful for today?

30 Days of Thanks: Days 7-13! (playing catch up!)

I've been slipping! Its hard to try to balance work and sleep with a baby! I work from home so it makes life easy, but it is also still hard trying to balance. Plus helping my 8 year old with homework. Housework has completely fallen behind since I had the baby 2 months ago! lol
So I left off on Day 6. Lets play catch up!

Day 7: I am thankful for my right to vote. Women had to go through a lot in order to be able to vote. And it's scary to think it wasn't that long ago! So, I am thankful that I can cast my vote for local, state and federal positions. I am thankful that I can do this even in the comfort of my own home weeks before the actual election day.

Day 8: Thankful for a dirty house - this means my kids are getting my attention, my kids are happy, and they have fun (well, the baby doesn't yet, but still). It means there is food in the house when there are dirty dishes, and dirty clothes means we have enough to wear!

Day 9: I am thankful that I can work from home. I am so happy that I can stay home with my baby and I don't have to leave her in a daycare. It's so different from when I had my son, but I was going to college at that time, but still! I love being with her all day. I love seeing her develop and get smarter, and bigger! It's amazing. I know there are a lot of people that wish they could stay home, so I do not take it for granted... OK, maybe at times I do, but still, I am so very thankful I can stay home with her .

Day 10: I am thankful for the few close friends I have. I have made many friends over the years, and only a few are still there today. I have friends that I try to keep in contact with from high school, old jobs, and local. Only 2 or 3 I can actually talk about real stuff with, the rest are what I consider acquaintances, or people that I couldn't rely on if I needed to. Those who are close to me, you know who you are. We have have deep conversations, and I know that I can use your shoulder if I need to, and you know mine have a spot for you.

Day 11: I am so very thankful I can breastfeed!!! I am on almost 9 weeks of breastfeeding! I am so very thankful that I can do it this time around. As I said in a previous post, I couldn't with my son. I also didn't have much support with it, so I just gave up. So Happy that I can do this for my daughter. I know it's best. I know there are some who can't and wish they could. I am very greatful.

Day 12: I am thankful for our medical insurance. I know some people don't have any, or if they do it isn't as good as ours. We have amazing insurance benefits from the Union my husband belongs to with Safeway (United Food & Commercial Workers). Before we started seeing the benefits of the union, I was against it. I worked at Walmart and they tell you all the "bad" things the union does, but in all honesty, Walmart would BENEFIT from it!!! Seriously! My husband has had steady raises since he started 4 years ago, and is making almost as much as my mom who has been at Walmart for 8 years! So in half the time he makes just as much... Hmm. But our benefits come in handy when we are sick, or like I need to do soon - get new glasses!

Day 13:  I am thankful for my mechanical friends!!! OMG without you I would have paid a fortune for my spark plugs to get fixed! I am so happy that I know someone, and my mom knows someone. And I was able to have my plugs replaced -- all 8 of them! Granted it was cold out, and rainy, but it got done, and I am very grateful for HER for doing them. Yupp, a girl! The best kind of mechanic! They understand when I say thingamajig or thingy. LOL

What are you thankful for?!

30 Days of Thanks. Day 5 and 6.

Totally skipped yesterday, not on purpose though.

Ok. So day 5 (Nov 5). I am thankful for a roof over my head. I know that there are plenty of people who don't have one, or are at risk of loosing theirs.  I am very thankful that at the moment, I don't have to worry about mine.

Day 6 (Nov 6) I am thankful for food in my cupboard. While at times we struggle (who doesn't?), I am very thankful that I can feed my family every day.

Don't mean to keep these two short, but kinda busy at the moment with the baby. Just wanted to get those in!

What are you Thankful for today?

30 Days of Thanks -- day 4

On day 4, I would like to say I am thankful for this blog! I don't get paid a lot, and not often because I don't spam my readers, I don't post a ton of ads in my posts hoping to get a bunch of people under me in some online thing, and I don't make much off the ads. I try to keep my content real for my readers. While I don't make a bunch of money off posts/ads, I do get to try some awesome stuff every now and then. and I love that about my blog. Some times I do wish that I was offered more opportunities with my blog, but you know what? I am happy with what comes along. Especially since that isn't why I started blogging in the first place. I started blogging to release vents, and to maybe help someone who is going through a hard time. And as a matter of fact, I need to get back to these real life posts that started me in the first place!

Anyways, I am thankful for what my blog has brought to me. I am thankful for the readers/subscribers and page views that I get. I am thankful for every little thing on this blog, and I can't wait to grow it more and reach more people!

What are you thankful for?

30 days of thanks - day 3.

Thankful for the little things in life. Like my cell phone and computer. I know some may be thinking, what the hell? But here is why.
The cell phone because it would be what would get me saved if I ever get stranded or am in a car accident. It would allow me to call my mom, sister or friends to come pick me up, and roadside assist to come tow me, or jump, or unlock my doors!
My computer because it allows me to work from home, and to connect with people that are either: 1) too far away to see in person, 2) people I wouldn't normally meet where I live, 3) friends from high school and past jobs, and 4) family members!!!  For whatever reason, the world revolves on social networks, and I'm fine with that. I can still talk to people daily, even when my phone is acting up and not holding a good charge lol.

I know these are small things, and there are more to be thankful for. But honestly, for me right now, my cell phone is what is gonna save me if God forbid anything happens LOL.  and the big thanks will come as we get closer to Thanksgiving. Gotta save the best for last!

What are you thankful for?

30 Days of Thanks - days 1 and 2

There is this thing going on around Facebook, and I wanted to blog about it too. To elaborate more.

Day 1 - November 1.
I am thankful for my babies! They are blessings! Never meant to have them 8 years apart, but things happen for a reason. I know many people aren't able to have kids, and so this is why I feel blessed. Especially with the baby - I didn't think that I would get pregnant so quickly. I was on Depo for like 7 years! And got pregnant within 6 months. Back on Depo now LOL. Probably won't have another kid for at least 4 years. Who knows, may decide not to have anymore. We will see as time goes. But I am really thankful for my babes.

Day 2 - November 2.
I am thankful that I am here, and alive. I'm sure there are many times where my life could have gone in another direction. I could have been seriously injured in the two car accidents I had. Someone else could have been seriously injured. Someone was looking out for me, and I am seriously grateful for that. I know there have been times where I was speeding, or trying to make it through a light or just totally not paying attention. So happy that someone, somewhere was looking out for me (hope that continues!).

Alright, that's it for now. I plan to post these all month (trying to remember to post it every day!!!)
What are you thankful for?

On a side note: I am soooo looking forward to Thanksgiving!!!

Spammers! Get off my blog!

I am tired of you spammers leaving spam comments on my posts! No one wants to go to your NFL Jersey site - whether its in the US or from China, or if they are cheap! Stop coming on my blog! Your gonna make me change how comments are posted (moderated or Google ID required!).  Ugh! Trying to get links back to your site, and its not gonna work. At least comment something relevant to my blog post! Geez!!

End rant.
