CVS shopping trip - saved over 50%

The other night I saw some good deals in the CVS ad.. and I haven't shopped at CVS much, but I def wanted to try my hand and see if I could do as good as I see some other couponers do... I don't think I did as good as them, but I think I did pretty decent!  Take a look...

OK. So before taxes and coupons, both transactions together totaled $66.46 (before tax). After coupons/discounts, the total came to $31.46 (before tax). That's just a little over 50%!  Here's what I did...

Keep this in mind: CVS this week has a couple of great deals...
Spend $30 on select P&G products, get $10 Extra Bucks (EB).
Spend $10 on Covergirl, get $3 EB.
Spend $10 on Maybelline, get $3 EB.
Also, there are some coupons in the coupon machine. If you scan your CVS card, you may get lucky and get a coupon for $5 off any cosmetics purchase $15 or more. I got that one, AND it printed out a $3 off any cosmetics purchase of $12 or more.

Forgive me, I don't remember which inserts the coupons came from. Some were mailed to me by P&G, some were in an insert in the paper.

So, Transactions 1 looks like this:
2/$5 Old Spice Deodorants
used $1/2 coupon
2/$5 Secret Deodorants
used $1/2 coupon
2/$5.98 Aussie or Herbal Essences shampoo/conditioner/stylers
used $3/2 coupon
2 @ $8.99ea packs of Pampers (jumbo sized) (total $17.98)
used $2 any Pampers
Trans 1: Total OOP $24.65 (before taxes)
Large Lavender candle marked down 75% on clearance for $2.69 (regular price $10.79).

Total before coupons: $36.65
Total after coupons: $29.65
I had a $5 EB coupon that I received for taking a survey and giving input/providing feedback (I forget what its called).
Total after EB coupon: $24.65 (after tax came to $27.44).
Received $10 EB.

Transaction 2:
$0.66 Arizona Fruit Punch (husband just had to have it, and didn't put it on the first trans).
2 @ $3.89ea Maybelline New York Baby Lips Peppermint  (total $7.78)
used $1 lip product coupon
$5.79 Maybelline New York Great Lash Lots of Lashes Mascara
used $1 off Maybelline mascara coupon
$7.79 Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipstick
$7.79 Covergirl BB Cream
used $3/2 Covergirl coupon

Trans 2: OOP $6.81 (before taxes)
Total before coupons: $29.81
Total after coupons: $24.81
Also used:
$5/$15 cosmetics purchase -brings the total to - $19.81
$10 EB earned from Trans 1 - brings total to - $9.81
And I was able to use the $3/12 cosmetic purchase coupon I mentioned earlier! Which brought the before tax total down to $6.81!!!! With tax it came to $9.13 AND I received $6 EB ($3ea from Covergirl and Maybelline).

I paid a total out of pocket of $31.46, and saved over that much! I have to say, that's not too shabby for only my 2nd trip to CVS where I actively try to pay less and less!

So, what do you think? Did I do a good job? Have you gotten anything this week? Whats your best trip to CVS?
