Bye Bye prenatal horse pills!

Visit the Premama website to learn more.
I am now 5 months pregnant, and the thought of taking these horse pills they call prenatal pills is annoying. They are either huge, or they come in two's! Can't anyone package all the vitamins we need in one small little tablet for us to take? Of course not.

But, thankfully, someone decided to put all the vitamins we need into a powdered drink mix. Simply mix it in with either water, or fruit juice, and ta-da! Easier to take! When taking with water, it actually has a ginger-y taste to it. But with juice (I took it with grape juice) I didn't taste anything at all.

This wonderful new concoction is called Premama. It is doctor recommended, provides nausea relief, is 100% natural, and has only 6 calories. It contains everything we need as pregnant, or breast feeding, women. It has the Folic Acid, Iron and DHA that is recommended. It also helps with digestive relief, so we can spend less time being, for lack of a better term, backed up.
Inside glass, small amount of powder
Grape juice added to the powder

You would simply mix the powder into your favorite juice (or water) and drink it twice a day. I do once when I wake up, and later with dinner. It would have been nice to have this earlier in my pregnancy, I was so nauseous, it was insane! This would have been such a great help.

Whats great about this, for me, is that I can take it on the go. If I know I am going to be out, I can go ahead, and throw a packet in my purse and drink it later on while I am out. Which is much easier (in my opinion) than taking a bottle of pills, or two bottles (for those that have 2 pills, such as One-A-Day prenatals).

These are not available in stores (yet), but you can order them online. They currently have free shipping for a 3, 6 or 9 month supply. You can ask your doctor what they think, if they think its OK for you to take this, but I am pretty sure they would not object.

Check out their website DrinkPremama.com to learn about ALL the benefits of this prenatal mixture, and to gather information to give to your doctor (in case they haven't heard of it). I don't believe this is available via Rx, but it is probably a write off as a medical expense for your taxes (of course, ask your tax professional to be sure). To me, this is a downfall of the product, I think it should be available via Rx.
The small package is easy to tear open.
